What you can expect...

Psychotherapy is a meeting in confidence with a trained practitioner. 

Psychotherapy provides a safe space for you to talk about your difficulties.

In Core Process Psychotherapy you are supported to explore your inner thoughts and feelings with honesty, acceptance, and openness.

The psychotherapist is not there to give you advice or to judge you.

There are many different reasons for being in psychotherapy.

You may have noticed that the same patterns keep repeating in your life and relationships 

You may be experiencing anxiety or panic attacks.

Perhaps your mood is low and you feel you have lost a sense of meaning in life.

You may have experienced the loss of someone close to you, or be having difficulty in a relationship.

Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, psychotherapy offers time and space to re-evaluate how your life is going and for exploring particular issues in depth.

Meetings usually take place once a week at the same time for an hour.

Therapy may be for a short time (up to 6 weeks) or may be for longer depending on what you are seeking from therapy.

You don't have to worry about what to say in a session. You will be guided by your therapist.

It may be helpful to jot down things you notice in between sessions.

If you think you would like to begin core proocess psychotherapy, I offer a first meeting which is free of charge.  This is so that we can meet each other to explore the possibility of working together.

This gives you an opportunity to see whether you think you would feel comfortable working with me. In psychotherapy it is important that you choose a therapist who is right for you.

It gives me an opportunity to find out more about the nature of your dilemma and your expectations of core process psychotherapy.
